About the Rye Jazz Society

There is no one place in Rye that could sustain jazz regularly.

However, there are so many people in our area who are passionate about the great range and lifestyle that this music offers, it seems logical to co-ordinate the musicians and their audience to bring more confidently staged jazz to our area.

Through this website and regular newsletters, we will make sure an eager core of jazzers know of all events, have entry discounts and Community Bus transport where possible.

Hastings jazz is well covered in the Ultimate Alternative, a free glossy magazine distributed mainly to pubs (several in Rye), Chris Barber is part of the Rye Festival and the Glenn Miller Band comes to Rye again this Christmas. There is a scattering of pub jazz by our old favourites Dr. Jazz and The Jazz Caverners.
